Yu Xinzhi was born in Leshan, Sichuan Province, in November 1945. He is a famous chinese painter. Now he is the dean and professor of Moruo Academy of Calligraphy and Painting. He also serves as honorary Dean of the Chinese Academy of Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting and the Chinese Academy of Calligraphy and Painting. He holds more than 60 posts, such as a member of world hall of fame and art consultant. He has held dozens of personal art exhibitions in National Art Museum of China, Hong Kong, Western Europe and other countries and areas. He has published many monographs, such as Yu Xinzhi's Painting Collection and Yu Xinzhi's Bamboo Painting Appreciation. His biography has been recorded in hundreds of dictionaries, such as the Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese Painters and Calligraphers, the Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese Celebrities and the Dictionary of World Celebrities of Calligraphy and Painting. In 1993, he was awarded the title of "World Art Celebrity". He is good at freehand flower and bird painting and landscape painting, especially bamboo painting. His paintings not only show his firm painting skills, but also express the feelings of natural life. In December 2003, he was employed as a part-time professor in the School of Art, Lanzhou University.
