Lu Xiaobo, studied at the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts from 1978 to 1982, was a teacher, deputy dean and director of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts from 1982 to 2000, a visiting researcher in computer interface design at Microsoft Research Institute from 2000 to 2002, and vice dean of the Academy of Arts, and director of Information Art Design Department of Tsinghua University from 2002 to 2011. He is now the director of Art Department of Tsinghua University, and executive deputy director of Art and Scientific Research Center, Tsinghua University, and a Ph.D. supervisor. He also served as vice-director of the Industrial Design Committee of Association of Chinese Artist of the Ministry of Education of China, member of the Chinese Association of Science and Technology, vice-director of the Industrial Design Art Committee of the Chinese Artists Association and vice-chairman of the Industrial Design Association of China. In November 2008, he was employed as a part-time professor in the College of Art, Lanzhou University.
