Chen Xiaoru, female, Han ethnic group, born in Zhangye, Gansu province, probationary member of CPC, master of Erhu performance majoring in music performing, teacher at Folk Music Research Office of the Institute for Music Studies.

She studied after Professor Jinwei at the Affiliated High School of Xi'an Conservatory of Music from 2001 to 2004. From 2004 to 2008, she studied after associate Professor Zhang Zunlian at the Department of Chinese Music of China Conservatory of Music, and obtained her bachelor’s degree there. From 2008 to 2010, she worked as an erhu teacher at Youth Sci-Tech and Art Guidance Center in Nanhui District, Shanghai. From 2010 to 2013, she studied at the Department of Chinese Music of China Conservatory of Music, and obtained her master’s degree. She has been working at the School of Art of Lanzhou University since July 2013.

Performance Experiences:

In 2007, she toured Europe and Africa with Huaxia Orchestra and visited Vienna Golden Hall, Switzerland, Italy, Luxembourg, Egypt and other countries;

In 2008, she served as chief erhu player in the performance of the kunqu opera Peony Pavilion at The Imperial Granary of Beijing, and performed in Hong Kong as well;

In 2013, she held a personal concert in the recital hall of China Conservatory of Music.

Personal Awards:

In 2011, she won the second prize of professional youth group A in the 1st “Charm of Chinese Music” International Erhu Competition;

In 2013, she won the honorable mention in 2013 Young Teachers' Lecture Competition of Lanzhou University.
