Yan Zhongfei, male, Han ethnic group, from Kang county, Gansu province, member of CPC, Master, teaching fellow of Laboratory of Vocal Music, Institute for Music Studies, member of Asia-Pacific Society for Ethnomusicology, member of China Traditional Music Association.

2000-2004: Scholar of musicology at School of Dunhuang Arts, Northwest Normal University, after professor Zheng Xiuling, Zhu Dongsheng and Wang Lanping.

2005-2008: Master of art at School of Music, Northwest Normal University, after the dean of School of Music, doctoral supervisor, professor Zhang Junren.

Teaching at the School of Art of Lanzhou University since 2008.

2007: He studied musicology at Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

2008: He took Training Class of Music Theory in Gansu Division, Ministry of Culture.

2010: He learnt vocal music and opera at Shanghai Conservatory of Music, after professor Gu Ping, executive deputy director of Department of Vocal Music and Opera.

Research field: traditional music in Northwest China, the anthropology of music, music of ethnic minorities in Northwest China.
