From 1988 to 1992, he studied oil painting in Northwest University for Nationalities and gained a bachelor's degree.

From 2000 to 2003, he studied oil painting in the School of Fine Arts of Northwest Normal University and obtained a master's degree.

From 2005 to 2008, he studied in the College of Art, Renmin University of China and gained a doctorate. Direction: The theory and practice of Western painting.
